What is it really like to give it all up, hit the road, and embrace life as a nomad? Many of us dream about it, but for most, it stays just that—a dream. We were no different, we were dreamers caught up in the fantasy. But when the opportunity knocked, I snatched it and jumped right in. I had to find out for myself what it meant to live on the road—even if only for a couple of years.
Looking back now, I’m in awe. Honestly, I still can’t believe we actually did it. If you knew me, you’d be just as amazed. Amazed I was brave enough to take the leap. Amazed by how much I learned—not just about life on the road but about myself. Amazed that our relationship not only survived but, in many ways, grew even stronger. The biggest lesson? Living on the road taught me to truly "live" in the present. Every day was about the moment, about making memories. The only future I planned was where we were heading next and where we’d stay. My past became a treasure trove of experiences that will sustain me for the rest of my life. The only anxiety I felt was on travel days, and even that eased as we gained confidence and experience. This book isn’t just about our journey. It’s also a resource for anyone dreaming about life on the road. I share what we learned as newbies—where we stayed, how we planned routes, how we tried our hands at boondocking, scenic drives we loved, National and state parks we visited, and even how we set up and broke down camp. Part journey, part memoir, part travel guide, this book might just answer some of the questions that dreamers have. Or, better yet, inspire you to take the leap yourself. Amazon Affiliate Link
