A list of RV Parks on Route 66

Betty Jo (the Airstream) enjoyed the stay at a variety of RV parks along Route 66 from Marshfield, MO to Needles, CA. Each of them were conveniently located off of HWY 40.

RV EXpress rv Park - Marshfield, MO

A basic park just off the highway. For us, it was a great place to park it while we explored some of Route 66 in the area. We only stayed for a few days. The service was good. The park was clean and maintained. The bathrooms and laundry room were really clean. Decent wifi. It's a small park and lots of room for navigating. The only drawbacks - highway noise, it didn't bother me but it might some. The town of Marshfield did not have much to offer, just a Walmart and mostly fast food restaurants. I would stay again. We camped at RV Express RV Park in a Travel Trailer. Full-hook-ups.

Coachlight RV Park - Carthage, MO

We stayed at Coachlight RV park while exploring Route 66 in the area of Joplin, Carthage, and Galena in Kansas. Convenient location. Great people. Delightful park. Good wifi and cable. Nice laundry room with a book library. Easy to navigate. Enjoyed our stay here. We camped at Coachlight RV Park in a Travel Trailer. Full hook-ups.

Mustang Run RV - Oklahoma City

Nice wide park with wide interior roads. Nice concrete sites. Clean and well maintained. Most concrete with a few trees. Good wifi. Close and convenient to Hwy 40, which does have some road noise. Grocery store close by. Would stay here again. We camped at Mustang Run RV Park in a Travel Trailer.  Full hook-ups.

Oasis RV Resort - Amarillo, TX

Clean, well maintained. Good Wi-fi and cable. Easy access to the highway and a Love's Truck stop. Wide sites and wide interior roads. Neighbors aren't too close. On the edge of town, but still close to shopping. Exposed to the weather and because the whole park is either cement, asphalt, or gravel there is no dirt to fly around, which was nice. If the park loses power (which it did during a snow storm) it also loses water (FYI). Cleanest and nicest park in Amarillo. We camped at Oasis RV Resort & Cottages Amarillo in a Travel Trailer. Full  hook-ups.

Blaze-in Saddle RV - Tucumcari, NM

The park is simple and convenient on and off from Hwy 40. Nice park with nice service and close to town. Tucumcari was a nice stop while exploring Route 66, or a nice stop if passing through. Full hook-ups. All gravel and the sites are pretty close together but fairly easy in and out. Good wifi. We camped at Blaze-in-Saddle RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Route 66 RV Resort - Albuquerque

Clean and well maintained. Large and spacious sites. Great staff. Good wifi. Easy to navigate roads. Good utilities. Good food inside Casino. Nice bathroom/showers. The view is beautiful. It is a bit windy here and it's about 15 miles into town, but worth it. Easy access to Hwy 40 but quiet enough. Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.  My favorite RV park. Full hook-ups.

USA RV Park - Gallup, NM

The park is all gravel with mostly pull-through sites. Sites alternate directions so the utilities for each RV is in-between. We were traveling through, exploring Route 66 so we stayed a few nights. It was nice park with good service. Good location for the area. Utilities worked fine. You pay extra for cable. WIFI was okay, a little weak. This is the sister park to Oasis RV Resort in Amarillo. We camped at USA RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Meteor Crate RV park - Winslow, AZ

We enjoyed our stay here. Nice staff, clean and well maintained. Gravel sites with room in-between neighbors. Good wifi, no cable. Good hook-ups. Quiet and convenient location to hwy 40. Just down the road is the Meteor Crater. Nice night sky. Would definitely stay here again. Good interior roads. The only downside is it is about 19 miles into Winslow and stores. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Make sure to visit the Meteor Crater while there.

Grand Canyon Railway RV Park - Williams, AZ

We have been doing Route 66 from Missouri to Needles, CA and have found some wonderful campgrounds just off of Hwy 40 and this campground was a great stop for our time in Williams, AZ. Conveniently located off the highway. Close to downtown Williams (walking distance), Route 66, and restaurants and Safeway. Comfortable place to stay for a week as we explored Route 66, Flagstaff, and the Grand Canyon. Clean and well maintained. Good Wifi. Good hook-ups. Nice staff for checking in. Connected to the hotel so access to their amenities, which we did not have time for. Within a few blocks of downtown Williams so you can walk to town, to Safeway, to the shops on Route 66. Clean laundry room and bathrooms. Sites were just good sized and close but not too close. Yes, it is close to the railroad tracks, but to be honest I didn't even hear them at night and during the day, they didn't run all the time. The office for check-in is actually across the street from the RV park, it is not where the RVs are parked. Definitely would stay here again. We camped at Grand Canyon Railway RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Desert View RV park - Needles, CA

In between each site are tall Oleander bushes, affording you some privacy from others. We were in Needles for a few days to do Oatman and finish up our route on Route 66. It was towards the end of April and it was HOT! The park is well maintained and clean, a great stop when traveling Hwy 40 east or west. Nice staff. Easy park to navigate around. Conveniently located off the highway with very little highway noise. The downsides are: the town of Needles does not offer much, the closest grocery stores and decent restaurants were in Arizona, which is about 13-19 miles. Go to Arizona for gas. WIFI was pretty much non-existent and cell coverage was weak. We camped at Desert View RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
